During the past six to seven years much research has
been conducted in the area of halitosis or bad breath.
Chronic bad breath is a problem that affects approximately
10% to 20% of adults. It has been estimated that between
25 to 60 million Americans are afflicted with this problem.
Chronic bad breath can be a constant problem but most
often it is only noticed occasionally. Traditional dental
care has not focused on eliminating this problem for
affected patients.
I have dedicated much time reviewing the existing professional
literature and research studies associated with the
diagnosis and successful treatment of chronic bad breath.
Interestingly enough, chronic bad breath is often associated
with underlying periodontal disease and/or the many
bacteria associated with gum disease. This association
has caused me to take a new look at current treatment.
After discussing this issue with a number of our existing
patients, I have realized that bad breath is a real
concern for many individuals and can affect both their
social and professional qualities of life.
I have personally reviewed over 50 research articles
relating to this topic. Based upon this information,
we have incorporated a special treatment regimen in
our office for those people concerned with bad breath.
The treatment of chronic bad breath is usually simple,
painless and very effective. This treatment has sound
scientific background, scientific support and has proven
effective for a number of years. Unfortunately, traditional
dental care has often overlooked the reality of this
concern for many people. I am pleased to convey that
professional help is available in our office. If you
or anyone you know is concerned about bad breath, call
our office now and ask about professional treatment.
There is no longer any reason to be self-conscious and
live with the embarrassing problem of bad breath.
